This is an tasty snack I like to make when we’re looking for something to pick at. It’s easy to make and refrigerates well!

Ingredients

  • 1 package Extra-Firm Tofu
  • 3 tablespoons Soya Sauce
  • 4 tablespoons Sesame Oil
  • 3 teaspoons Sesame Seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon Smoked Paprika (Cumin or any other spice you like)

Directions

Set oven to 350 degrees with oven rack positioned in centre.

In medium size bowl or plastic container, combine soya sauce, sesame oil, sesame seeds and paprika into bowl and whisk.

Place tofu flat on cutting board and slice into 1/2 inch slices. Take each slice and cut length wise twice to get strips.

Add tofu strips and gently mix to coat trying not to break them. Place in fridge for at least 30 minutes to allow flavor to absorb into tofu. For ease, consider placing all ingredients in a plastic container with lid and gently flipping the container every 10 minutes so sauce continues to cover.

Place parchment paper on cookie sheet. Once tofu has marinated for 30 minutes, place in a single layer on parchment.

Bake in oven for 18-20 minutes. Tofu will bake to a beautiful golden color.

Once cooled, these are a great refrigerator snack eaten chilled and last for 3 to 4 days, if the family doesn’t devour them before.
